The College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is seeking registered nurses (RNs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) to fill registrant vacancies on its Council. We are also looking for RNs and NPs to fill vacancies on select regulatory committees. The term of appointment for all positions is three (3) years, commencing Oct. 1, 2026, and expiring Sept. 30, 2029.
Council and regulatory committee members play an important role in fulfilling the CRNA’s mandate of regulating in the public interest. The CRNA uses a competency-based selection process for Council and regulatory committee recruitment to have a range of diverse perspectives represented. We don't expect every individual to have all the competencies we are looking for – each Council and regulatory committee member can help contribute to meaningful discussions and informed decision- making by bringing their unique background and competencies to the table.
Being on Council or a regulatory committee is an exciting opportunity to have an impact on nursing regulation in Alberta. If you are an RN or NP interested in serving on Council or a regulatory committee, or if you know someone who you think would be a good fit for one of these roles, review the postings below. Expression of interest applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. MT on Feb. 22, 2026.
