2026-2027 Permit Fees

June 19, 2026

The CRNA’s Council approved the permit fee structure for the 2026–2027 practice year, which includes a reduction in fees for all permit types. For registered nurse (RN), nurse practitioner (NP) and certified graduate nurse (CGN) permits, the full year practice permit fee will decrease from $480.00 to $460.00 plus GST, a reduction of $20.00, or approximately 4.2 per cent. The full practice year runs from Oct. 1, 2026, to Sept. 30, 2027.

The Courtesy Permit fee will be $230.00 plus GST, and prorated fees have also been reduced.
This fee reduction reflects the CRNA’s commitment to responsible financial stewardship, affordability for registrants and maintaining fees that are proportionate to the cost of regulating the profession in the public interest. It also supports workforce access while ensuring that the CRNA has the resources needed to deliver on its regulatory mandate.

The College’s approach to setting permit fees is to maintain the organization’s financial health while ensuring it can respond to emerging regulatory needs and changes in the health-care system. With this reduction, Alberta’s RN and NP permit fees remain below the adjusted national median rate.

The CRNA will continue to monitor its financial position, regulatory responsibilities, and the broader health-system environment to ensure future permit fees remain responsible, sustainable and aligned with public-interest regulation.
