Your answers indicate that you may qualify to apply as a courtesy applicant. Practising temporarily in Alberta is limited to one of the following scenarios:

• Assisting in emergencies or disaster relief efforts
• Volunteer activity
• Research activity, where the primary research activity is in another jurisdiction, and the research requires direct access to clients or has ethical implications for human participants
• Educational clinical practicum (e.g., a nurse practitioner, clinical care or emergency nursing certificate program)
• Contract as a teaching staff member in an Alberta nursing education program
• Job action disrupting health-care services
• Training or certification activity not related to a formal educational clinical practicum

Temporary employment contracts, including agency of travel nurse assignments, are not valid scenarios for practising temporarily in Alberta, unless related to an emergency or disaster.
