The College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) thanks everyone who participated in a summer 2024 survey that asked about the use of various CRNA documents.
The survey is part of the CRNA’s efforts to modernize all standards of practice, guidelines, the Code of Ethics, scope of practice and competency documents.
469 respondents provided feedback on various aspects of these documents, offering their perspectives related to the level of clarity, language used, look and feel, and how applicable the documents are to their nursing practice.
The feedback reinforced the CRNA’s belief that there is room for improvement in how these documents are written and presented, and the College will work to incorporate this feedback as we work to improve the clarity and effectiveness of these materials.
Over the next several months, there will opportunities to provide input on proposed revisions, particularly to the CRNA's standards of practice. This information will be shared across CRNA’s platforms, including with registrants via email and in College Connect, and publicly on the CRNA’s website and social media.
Standards of practice and the Code of Ethics are reviewed by the Minister of Health before they are brought to the CRNA's Council for approval.
