The College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is a not-for-profit organization governing the registered nursing practice in Alberta. The CRNA is committed to serving and protecting the public and providing service excellence to its registrants. College operations are funded by registrant fees.
To practise within Alberta, registrants pay an annual fee for their permit, and must also hold professional liability protection from the Canadian Nurses Protective Society. A permit is valid for the registration year from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30. A discounted permit fee is available for permits from May 1 to Sept. 30.

To ensure operational effectiveness and fiscal stewardship, the CRNA's management reviews financial results relative to the budget monthly and reports to Council on a quarterly/annual basis regarding how it has met its financial and operational priorities based on available funding sources.
