Instructional Designer - Council Support

Instructional Designer

At the CRNA, we are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. As part of our Learning and Development initiatives, we are seeking an Instructional Designer to support the Council Support Program by developing engaging and effective learning materials.

Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development, this six-month contract position will play a key role in designing and delivering educational content tailored to the needs of the CRNA’s Council.

This role will develop learning programs, eLearning modules, videos and other digital materials to enhance the skills and knowledge of the CRNA’s Council members. Working collaboratively with partners and subject matter experts, the Instructional Designer will create and implement instructional design strategies, ensuring high-quality and impactful learning experiences.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with the Council Support Program team to define program requirements and project scope. Sequence deliverables by priority and create an execution plan.
  • Work with subject matter experts to determine learning outcomes, write, review and revise content to ensure it aligns with the CRNA's policies, procedures and frameworks.
  • Develop learning resources and materials such as eLearning modules, video scripts, storyboards, job aids, one-pagers and additional instructional content as needed.
  • Employ learning technologies such as Articulate and Vyond to develop educational materials, lessons and courses.
  • Develop asynchronous learning materials that integrate instructional strategies, assessments, interactive eLearning components, visuals, graphics, audio, video and other pertinent resources.
  • Utilize technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with colleagues, organizational partners and subject matter experts.
  • Stay informed on the latest best practices in instructional design and learning technologies.

What You Possess

Education

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in instructional design, education or a related field.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in instructional design and creating learning programs.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Competencies

  • Instructional Design Expertise: Proven ability to design, develop, implement and evaluate effective learning programs.
  • Plain Language Communication: Ability to translate complex technical knowledge into clear, engaging content for diverse learning audiences.
  • Technology Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft 365 with preferred experience in Articulate Rise, Storyline 360 and digital learning tools.
  • Creative and Visual Design: Experience in graphic and video design is an asset.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with colleagues and subject matter experts at all levels.
  • Initiative and Problem Solving: Self-motivated with strong judgement, creativity and attention to detail.
  • Time Management and Organization: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Teamwork and Positive Culture: Contributes to a collaborative, innovative and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Open to feedback, eager to learn and proactive in bringing fresh ideas. 

What We Offer

  • This is a six-month contract position starting in March 2025 through Sept. 30, 2025, with the possibility of a one-year extension.
  • A competitive salary.
  • Work environment is remote/hybrid.
